What's the point of Instagram location?

Officially called "the location feature", Instagram location offers big benefits to your restaurant's page.

It makes sense: you add a location every time you post. The algorithm "understands" where your restaurant is located. So it's going to make you stand out in local searches. 

By adding a location to your posts, you enable potential customers to find you in the "Places" section on Instagram. Result: you extend your reach! 

How do I add my restaurant's Instagram location?

Activate geolocation on your smartphone

You'll find it in your settings. This step is essential: if you don't activate geolocation, the tuto won't work!

Open Facebook on your smartphone

To create a location on Instagram, you have to go to Facebook mobile. The reason is simple: Instagram belongs to Facebook!

So first you need to create a place on Facebook Places before you can add it to Instagram.

Click on "What's new?" to create a publication

In the drop-down list, click on "I'm here".

 

Search for your location then click on "add a location".

Publish the post with your new location!

All you have to do is wait 24 to 48 hours.

The next time you post, you can search for the location you've created and enter it.

The more you post, the more you signal to the algorithm that you're actually at the location indicated.

How do I add an Instagram location if it doesn't exist?

In this case, the handling is almost the same:

1. Activate geolocation on your smartphone

2. Open Facebook on your smartphone

3. Activate localization, then click on "I'm here".

4. Create your establishment in the search bar, then select "add".

You can now publish your post with your new location!

The secret to standing out on Instagram: post often (2-3 times a week) and regularly (no sudden stops).
